HEAD COACH BRIAN SHRADER
Coach Schrader brings coaching experience at every level of swimming, but most recently from the collegiate coaching ranks and the International Swimming League (ISL). He has been a part of several Division I championship teams as an assistant and head coach. He takes great professional pride in building and improving every swim program he has been a part of. Coach Schrader takes great pride in his coaching experience in working directly for three Head USA Olympic Team Coaches and developing athletes at every level of the sport. He holds a Masters and Undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of Texas at Austin and a High Performance Leadership Certificate from the University of Denver Graduate Business School. Coach Schrader is a Level 5 Coach with the American Swimming Coaches Association and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

• Served on College Swimming Coaches Association Executive Committee
• Elected to USA Swimming’s 2022 Coach Advisory Council
• Awarded the Glenn S Hummer award by USA Swimming (contributions to Open Water Swimming)
Director of Athlete Development Anne Shawhan
Coach Shawhan brings extensive coaching and training experience to the FAST Falcons. She has coached all levels of swimming and lessons from parent and toddler classes, learn-to-swim, and the competitive level and holds a degree in Sports Management. With collegiate coaching experience at Florida State University, Louisiana State University, and University of Colorado, Coach Shawhan has the knowledge to manage and coach a roster of multiple swimmers. Aside from coaching experience, Coach Shawhan has her own aquatic accomplishments including competing in the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials at the age of 15 and earning the rights to a five-time All American Swimmer at FSU.
Director of Lessons Gemma Fleming
Coach Fleming is former competition swimmer who represented Great Britain in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, FINA world championships and European championships, and England in the Commonwealth Games. Coach Fleming is the former world record-holder and 2009 world champion in the 100m backstroke and won a total of eight medals in major international championships. In 2020, she was inducted to the Hall of Fame at the University of Florida, where she was a five-time NCAA champion, NCAA record holder, 18-time All-American Selection, 2009 SEC Female Swimmer of the Year, eight-time All-SEC Selection, four-time SEC champion, and four-time SEC record holder. Coach Fleming also taught lessons under SwimAmerica of Gainesville, FL for 12+ years. She is ESE certified and has worked in the public education system as a school counselor for 7 years. Her life philosophy is “empathy and kindness, together with hard work and dedication will take you far.”
Assistant Coach Adam Wise
Coach Wise’s love of swimming flourished into a full-blown career. He swam at the collegiate level at Indian River State College under Head Coach Sion Brinn and Adam Epstein; an NJCAA powerhouse winning multiple national titles and breaking a few records along the way. Coach Wise continued his swimming career at Lewis University, where he swam at NCAAs as a sprinter and broke many school records. Coach Wise holds a degree in International Business and Finance from Lewis University.
