Code of Conduct

Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training (FAST) Members and Guests are expected to be respectful of all others. FAST retains the right to deny access, suspend or cancel a membership when a member’s conduct is determined to endanger the safety of others or interfere with another member’s enjoyment and reasonable use of FAST facilities. No refund will be issued for a suspended or terminated membership.

FAST does not tolerate inappropriate, threatening, or harassing behavior including but not limited to:

  • Use of offensive language
  • Destruction of property
  • Sharing membership card with others
  • Theft
  • Being in possession or under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Sexual Misconduct
  • Disorderly Conduct
  • Physical Fights
  • Verbal or other forms of harassment
  • Nudity in the locker room
  • Selling or promoting products and services without FAST authorization
  • Any behavior that is determined to be unacceptable by FAST and is detrimental to those we serve.

Guest Policies and Rules

  • All visitors and members must check in at the Information Desk when entering the facility.
  • Smoking and smokeless tobacco is prohibited in or around the building.
  • Outside food and beverages are not allowed in the facility. Food and beverages are not allowed on the pool deck or in the dryland area. Water and sports drinks, however, are permitted in the facility and on the pool deck. No glass containers, drinkware, etc. is allowed anywhere in the facility.
  • Possession of illegal drugs, beer, and alcoholic beverages is prohibited on the premises.
  • Harassment is not tolerated by the FAST Team. The term “harassment” includes, but is not limited to, slurs, jokes and other verbal, graphic, or physical contact relating to an individual’s race, color, sex, religion, national origin, citizenship, age, or handicap. “Harassment” also includes sexual favors, unwelcome or offensive touching, and other verbal, graphic, or physical conduct of a sexual nature.
  • Foul and abusive language is unacceptable.
  • The possession of weapons, explosives, or firearms while on FAST property is strictly forbidden.
  • No solicitation.
  • Pets are not permitted inside of the facility unless they are marked by vest as a service or support animal. Service animals are not allowed in the water.
  • Abuse and/or misuse of FAST property and equipment is unacceptable. Violators will be held financially responsible for damages and losses. Violators will be asked to leave the premises and action may result in entry privileges being suspended or revoked.
  • Guests are only allowed on the FAST premises during facility hours. Violators will be asked to leave the premises and action may result in entry privileges being suspended or revoked.
  • No bare feet allowed outside of locker rooms or swimming pool areas.
  • Lockers are for day use only unless a monthly or annual locker rental has been purchased. If a pass has not been purchased, lockers will have the lock cut off and all items will be removed and bagged for pick-up. There will be a two (2) week holding period at which time all items found will be donated to a charitable organization.
  • Lockers purchased for monthly or annual use must be used in conjunction with a current swim pass, class registration or swim team registration.
  • Guests are fully responsible for personal items that are lost, stolen, or damaged at FAST. Books, bags, coats, and personal items should be kept in a locker and are not allowed in activity areas. Guests are responsible for bringing their own lock when using the lockers. FAST is not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen items from any locker (locked or unlocked / rented or not rented)​.
  • Persons with infectious diseases are prohibited from using the facility. Open wounds must be covered. No one with an open wound will be allowed in the swimming pools.
  • No child over the age of five (5) may be brought in the locker room of the opposite sex. FAST has provided 13 unisex restrooms/changing rooms around the facility for your convenience.
  • The multipurpose rooms are for use only by pre-approved persons.
  • No unauthorized professional photography is allowed within our premises or outside surroundings.
  • All individuals are expected to follow all safety and security guidelines that are in place.
  • Members and guests under the age of 8 are required to be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times.
  • Report any malfunctioning or broken equipment to a staff member immediately.
  • Certain areas of FAST are restricted by specific guidelines regarding age usage.
  • There is no outside personal training allowed.
  • All sales for any purchases from FAST or the Pro Shop are final, there are no refunds and no exchanges.
  • Guests and visitors shall abide by the rules and regulations of FAST. People found in violation of these rules may have their FAST privileges suspended or revoked.

Weather Policy

  • In the event that severe weather approaches the area, the FAST staff will closely monitor local radar and weather reports. If necessary, the pools will be closed, and guests will be asked to exit the water. The facility will remain open until conditions allow for reopening the pools.
  • When and if severe weather will affect pool operations is impossible to predict. Therefore, FAST staff cannot predict whether the pools will be closed when severe weather is predicted, nor can they predict when the pools will reopen after a severe weather closure. ** Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis by facility staff. If the pools have closed, FAST staff will reopen them as soon as weather conditions allow.
  • No refunds will be given in case of weather-related closures.

Sanitary Rules

  • A cleansing shower should be taken before entering the pools and before returning to the pools after the use of the restroom in any way.
  • Children who are not potty trained must wear swim diapers. All other diapers are prohibited in all FAST pools.
  • You are responsible for taking children on regular bathroom breaks and checking diapers every hour. Change diapers in designated changing areas.
  • A person with Band-Aids, blisters, cuts, rashes, stitches, and/or communicable diseases is prohibited from using all FAST pools.
  • All accidents, however minor, must be reported to a member of the FAST staff.
  • Per the CDC guidelines, you are not permitted in the water if you have been sick with diarrhea within the last 2 weeks.

Activity and Equipment Rules

  • Diving in shallow areas is prohibited. Use of the Starting Blocks is for competitive team use only.
  • Non-swimming children or children eight (8) years of age and under must be accompanied in the water by a parent, guardian, or chaperone at all times, with the exception of classes.
  • Children fourteen (14) years and under must be supervised at all times by a parent, guardian, or chaperone, with the exception of classes.
  • Chaperones must be at least sixteen (16) years of age.
  • Swimsuits must be worn. Swimming in street clothing such as cut-off sweatpants, jeans, t-shirts, etc. is prohibited.
  • Do not play on steps or ladders.
  • Back flips, back jumps, and back dives are not allowed even in the deep end.
  • Flotation devices are prohibited in all FAST pools except for properly fitted Coast Guard approved vests. These may be used in shallow water areas.
  • Wearing an approved life jacket does not modify age restrictions that may apply.
  • Lifeguard staff must approve all play toys brought into the pool area.
  • All equipment provided is available for patron use and enjoyment. Please use with caution and at your own risk.

FAST FIT Training Center Policies

We care about your health and safety; please respect yourself, other members and staff by following the rules below:

  • FAST FIT usage is available for members and authorized individuals aged 14 & older. Users aged 14-17 must have a parent or guardian present at all times while working out.
  • All users must check in at the front desk before using any FAST facilities.
  • Food, glass bottles, and open containers are prohibited. Water bottles with lids are acceptable.
  • Proper athletic clothing, including shirts and athletic shoes, must be worn at all times. Clothing must not be worn in such a way as to be offensive to other users. Open toed shoes are prohibited.
  • All equipment and machines must be wiped down after use. Sanitizing wipes are available in the weight room.
  • Personal exercise circuits should only be performed in a manner that does not interrupt other facility users.
  • When performing multiple sets on strength training equipment, other members must be allowed to “work in” between sets.
  • Respect others by limiting cell phone usage on the weight room floor. The taking of pictures is prohibited. Please take phone calls and conversations to the lobby or other areas of the facility to avoid interruptions and delays.
  • Equipment is available for use on a first come, first serve basis. “Holding machines” is not permitted.
  • Equipment must be returned to its appropriate storage area after use. Weights must be re-racked following use.
  • Equipment may not be removed from the weight room.
  • To avoid injury, the use of a spotter when training with free weights is strongly recommended.
  • Weights are not to be dropped, slammed, or thrown. Weights must be raised and lowered in a controlled manner.
  • Respect for the equipment and facility must be demonstrated at all times.
  • Refrain from yelling, using profanity, banging weights, and making loud sounds.
  • Keep towels away from machines’ moving parts.
  • Headphones or earbuds must be used with all personal portable music devices. Users are responsible for supplying their own headphones or earbuds.
  • Members may not bring in or utilize personal exercise equipment of any type other than yoga and/or fitness mats.
  • Please lock gym bags and valuables in a locker.
  • Only FAST staff members may offer personal training within the facility. Personal training by individuals who are not FAST staff members is prohibited.
  • Immediately report any injuries or equipment problems to FAST staff at the front desk.
