FAST Competitive Swim Clinic Overview
The FAST Competitive Swim Clinic is a high-impact training weekend designed to elevate swimmers’ skills through expert-led swim practices, educational workshops, and strength training.
Cost: $275 per participant
Schedule:
Friday: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Drop-off at 7:45 AM)
Program Highlights:
Swim Practices: 5 sessions focusing on drills, technique refinement, and race strategy.
Classroom Sessions: 3 interactive workshops:
Session 1: Camp overview and goal-setting strategies.
Session 2: Video analysis and discussion on stroke technique.
Session 3: Breakdown of starts and turns with video review and expert insights.
Strength & Dryland Training:
1 gym session on Saturday to focus on strength and mobility.
1 gym session on Sunday to enhance core stability and injury prevention.
Elite Coaching Team:
Gemma Spofforth: Two-time Olympian, former world record holder, and World Champion in backstroke.
Martyn Wilby: A highly accomplished coach with extensive experience:
19 years at the University of Florida, coaching NCAA and Olympic champions.
Senior Coach for Swimming Canada’s Olympic Program.
Interim Head Coach at Swimming Canada’s High Performance Centre in Vancouver.
Chris George: Head Coach at Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training (FAST) with over 15 years of coaching experience:
Former Head Coach at Gulliver Prep and Gulliver Swim Club, where he expanded the program from 35 to over 220 swimmers and achieved Silver Medal Club recognition.
Developed athletes who achieved top-16 national age group rankings, as well as qualifiers for Junior Nationals, US Open, Olympic Trials, and World Championships.
Led Gulliver Prep girls’ team to six state titles and boys’ team to one state title—the first in the school’s history.
As a swimmer, was a four-year varsity letter winner at the University of Pittsburgh, team captain, and two-time Olympic Trials qualifier, finishing 10th in the 1500m Freestyle in 2004.
